Our client, a well-established financial institution, is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer to oversee the financial operations of the organization and its affiliated entities. This executive role is responsible for directing all financial activities, including the preparation of financial reports and summaries, forecasting future growth, and providing strategic financial leadership to senior management and the Board of Directors.
The Chief Financial Officer will oversee the Accounting and Finance departments and will be responsible for budget preparation, audit functions, and financial oversight across all departments. This role works closely with department leaders to monitor financial performance, evaluate results, and make informed recommendations that support the institution’s strategic objectives.
The position offers a competitive salary of up to $170,000 along with a comprehensive benefits package. This is an on-site role and is not remote.
Key Responsibilities
The Chief Financial Officer manages the asset and liability profile of the bank and its affiliates and leads the budgeting process across the organization. This role oversees liquidity risk management and serves as a member of the Asset/Liability Committee, providing leadership in balance sheet strategy and risk oversight.
The position is responsible for generating and supervising the preparation of asset and liability management reports, budgeting reports, and risk measurement analyses for review by senior management. The Chief Financial Officer oversees the preparation of Call Reports and other required regulatory filings and ensures timely and accurate reporting.
Additional responsibilities include supervising monthly account reconciliations and the general ledger, analyzing the loan portfolio, and producing analytical reports related to portfolio composition, structure, and income. The role also oversees all insurance policies for the bank and its affiliates, including blanket bond coverage, directors and officers insurance, property and casualty coverage, and related policies.
The Chief Financial Officer drafts, reviews, and maintains bank policies and procedures related to financial management, including market and liquidity risk management. The role assists in preparing financial communications for shareholders, private placement memoranda, regulatory responses, and other financial disclosures as required.
This position evaluates the profitability of the bank and the contribution of personnel to overall performance as part of the incentive compensation process. The Chief Financial Officer also assists in managing the securities investment portfolio, including investment purchases.
The role serves as the primary liaison with external audit firms for the preparation of annual financial statements and leads the response and reporting process for internal audit reviews. Additional responsibilities include supporting administrative and compliance functions, providing financial updates to the Board of Directors, and assisting senior leadership in monitoring regulatory capital levels and ensuring compliance with Basel III requirements.
The Chief Financial Officer supports the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, and President on special projects as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A graduate degree or CPA designation is preferred. Candidates should have at least ten years of experience in banking, accounting, or a related financial field, including experience working in a highly regulated environment.
Experience with FDIC and other regulatory examinations is required, along with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial statements in a regulated setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products is essential, particularly advanced Excel skills, as much of the analytical work is performed within Excel.
The successful candidate demonstrates sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and consistency in decision-making. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are required, along with the ability to facilitate discussions, provide strong internal customer service, supervise staff, analyze complex data, and make informed decisions.
