Branch Manager - Retail Banking

Our client is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead daily branch operations and deliver strong customer service, sales performance, and team leadership. This role is responsible for overseeing teller operations, customer service functions, loan processing, collections, and personnel administration while ensuring the branch operates in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.

The Branch Manager serves as the face of the branch within the community and plays a key role in growing relationships, developing staff, and strengthening the bank’s local presence.

The position offers a competitive salary of up to $80,000, bonus potential, and an excellent benefits package. This is an on-site position and is not remote.

Key Responsibilities

Branch Operations & Compliance

  • Oversee all daily branch operations, ensuring safety, soundness, and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure strong internal controls, security practices, and regulatory compliance at the branch level.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, select, and onboard qualified staff to maintain high service standards.
  • Provide training and ongoing coaching on policies, procedures, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead performance management activities, including goal setting, feedback, and staff development.

Customer Service & Sales

  • Provide backup support to personal bankers and tellers as needed, including:
    • Opening and servicing accounts
    • Processing deposits, withdrawals, and check cashing
    • Accepting loan payments and assisting with customer transactions
  • Interview customers to identify financial needs and explain banking products, including:
    • Checking and savings accounts
    • Certificates of Deposit and retirement accounts
    • Savings bonds and other retail services
  • Actively cross-sell a full range of retail banking products to existing and prospective customers.

Community Engagement & Growth

  • Represent the bank through participation in community and civic activities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance market share and strengthen the bank’s visibility and reputation.
  • Recommend strategies to grow customer relationships and branch performance.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Five or more years of experience in a financial institution, including at least three years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of retail banking operations, with experience supporting consumer and mortgage lending preferred.
  • Proven customer service and sales skills with a track record of building relationships.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally in person, by phone, in writing, and electronically.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
